The article analyzes some works of Vasyl Stefanyk through the prism Christian morality (Ten Commandments God); discrepancy between ideas characters who love God, live under his protection, and their actions, which contradict Lord's instructions, is investigated; parallels are drawn individual episodes from biography master expressionist short story tragic human destinies in pages life sketches; on example quotations Stefanyk's works, attention focused problem non-observance biblical Decalogue by heroes stories; systematized fall misdeeds Pokut peasants; tragedy people border shown; outlines causes distortion consciousness that lead to sin.
